For hospitals, the value of accurate admissions data cannot be overstated. Everything flows downstream from the admissions process. Kane County Hospital admissions staff had implemented manual workarounds to address glaring data gaps present in their electronic medical record (EMR) admission reports.

REDi Health was hired to automate and enhance the reporting process by leveraging the EMR data model, coupled with deep health care and analytic expertise. The result is accurate reporting run on demand by admissions staff to measurably track patient flow in near real-time.

The new admit report is sent to the hospital’s registration/authorization team who is responsible for verifying patient admissions and ensuring that the hospital does not miss any authorizations.

The custom-built report has proven to be highly beneficial to the hospital, as it has improved the accuracy and reliability of their admissions process. To further increase the efficiency of their operations, they run this report two times per day. The custom-built admit report has enabled the hospital to provide better patient care and avoid costly errors.

Moving from the reliance of personnel to manually track admits, to having the capability to run on-demand reports is preventing omission errors, thus promptly increasing the quality of authorizations.
